She has a gigantuous day lily garden - the largest in the state, with 4,000 varieties of day lilies. She also has a house full of cats (about 80). Every year she has a big day lily sale with free food and live music. She donates the profits to a cat shelter. And once upon a time she used to open up her home to people to come in and play with the cats. It was like a day of paradise for me. Flowers, music, free food, and 20 cats cuddling on a bed. Just doesn't get any better than that. This is how I met her, and now that we are friends, I still go over and play with her cats whenever I need cat therapy. As for your "friend"---sorry my qualification list for "friend" is a lot more strict than that---maybe "acquaintance" would describe her relationship more. To me "friend" means someone you'd mortgage your house for and "acquaintance" is someone you talk about mutual interest subjects. It didn't make any sense. it's what she does. This LFS collects friends who are in denial about a myriad of things and then tells them 'where they are blind'. She has tried this with me three times. I have said, nuh uh, this is not a dynamic we are going to have, all three times. It's weird. was she ever my friend - well, yes. she's just got some shortcomings that are coming to the fore, as I have been around her long enough to see/ experience the patterns. she is the only person outside of lf who was interested in spath stuff - she read some, etc. she is interested in psychology. she is also interested in being 'right' about people, leading them to some conclusion about them selves. no idea what that's about, but i have told her that you can't write other people's scripts - that if you want to help them truly, you LISTEN, and not project blah blah on them. I don't know if the landlord did anything - I haven't smelt it since I talked to him, and i have been out of the house a lot since so wouldn't have seen a repair truck.
