Women enjoying happy hour foil an attempted date rape

Three women, Monica Kenyon, Sonia Ulrich and Marla Saltzer, were having happy hour drinks in a high-end Santa Monica, California restaurant. A man and woman were at the table next to them. That woman got up to use the restroom, and the man dropped something into her drink.

“Did that just happen?” Monica asked. She and her friends warned the woman about potential date rape and told the restaurant manager. Santa Monica police arrested the man on suspicion of intent to commit rape.

Women hailed for stopping alleged date rape, on NBCChicago.com.

Guess who stopped a rape last night? These gals! on Facebook.com

He was betting on the public’s inclination to “not notice” an outrageously immoral act, that also happens to be a crime.

Sad, the 3 women were only believed once they watched the videotape evidence. If it were not for the security cameras they may not have been believed (clearly, they were not….why else check the tape?). It would have been another case of witnesses of a crime not being believed. Usually happens with a female witness.
This story became a story because the women had the camera to back them up. If it weren’t for the camera, there would be no story.
