  1. Mother.Love says:

This is ALL the information I wish I had known 30 years ago, during my 25 year marriage and during the Divorce. My Son is showing ALL the signs of Imitating his father’s behaviors but I’m afraid it’s too late. Marriage counselors’, Family Therapists did so much MORE damage than I can describe. They don’t recognize these TYPES, their effects on the spouse/children, or offer ways out. Instead, the phenomenon is an over-emphasis on the “FATHER’s RIGHTS” as superseding the destruction of the Mother. The Courts are NO DIFFERENT. My Ex passed all his “Psych Evals”…. Alcoholic, Liar, Thief, Abuser (children, spouse and animals), Cheater, and on and on. He was evaluated as “NORmAL”…. Until the Psych Community gets off the BANDWAGON of ABUSER RIGHTS…. nothing will change. My DV Counselor told me 6 years ago… These types still have “RIGHTS” after they KILL the MOTHERS. So where does that leave the women whose ex spouses are MENTAL/EMOTIONAL ABUSERS ? I understand Education is a start… but it’s so far out of control, even amongst teens, I don’t know where to start.

    • Mother.Love – I am so sorry for what you have endured. That’s exactly why my colleagues and I are presenting online education – because so much education needs to be done, across the board – judges, lawyers, mental health field, and all of us.

I hope to shine a bright light on the dark side of the human race. This is not an abstraction – these are our lives.
