James Barton Horn Jr., of Sedalia, Missouri, is suspected in the murder of his girlfriend, Sandra Sutton, 46, and her son, Zacharay Wade Sutton, 17, who were found dead Thursday morning.

Horn had kept Sandra locked inside a wooden box in the home they shared, until she escaped on April 30. She had been staying with relatives.

Horn is at large and is considered to be extremely dangerous, according to police.

  1. James Barton Horn Jr., 47, was killed by law enforcement officers when he threatened them with a handgun.

    According to Yahoo News, Horn previously pleaded guilty in 1997 for unlawfully kidnapping and abducting his estranged wife. He was sentenced to 12 years and 11 months in prison. Prosecutors tried to have his sentence extended by having him certified as a “sexually dangerous” person. They failed.

    Donna, I read this article a few days ago but was at a loss for words. I can’t even imagine the fear this women felt being locked in a box and the abuse she endured verbally, emotional, mentally & physically. Heat wrenching to think about it all.

    Absolutely hell on earth for her & her son. My these two victims now RIP.
