Shutdown
A bitter breakup leads to a controversial blog — and a challenge to the First Amendment, by Joel Rozen

Kristen Rhoad’s blog launched in San Diego and crashed in a Sarasota County courthouse.

Or at least it was supposed to.

On Sept. 7, 2006, Rhoad appeared as the defendant in a domestic violence lawsuit—the charge was cyberstalking—brought by her ex-husband, Phil Haberman. Too good to be true?
Donna thought she'd landed a real catch in James, a tall, dashing, successful former war hero.

Tapping away at my computer, I couldn't help but smile. "This guy seems nice," I mused, reading an ad from James Alwyn Montgomery, an Australian living in the US.

James described himself as a "Sean Connery look-alike," said he'd worked in Hollywood and was now an entertainment businessman.

"Why not?" I decided, e-mailing him.

A California woman is ordered to take down her blog, which profiles her ex-husband as a cheating fraud, by Meggan Clark

If you think your ex-husband is a lying, cheating, scamming, con artist with no conscience and no soul, you're entitled to your opinion.

But posting warnings about him on the Web amounts to cyberstalking, a Florida judge has ruled.

The case could have widespread ramifications for bloggers like Donna Andersen, of Atlantic City, whose Web site, www.lovefraud.com, dedicated to "teaching the public to recognize and avoid sociopaths," contains profiles of several scamming, lying and occasionally murderous spouses whom Andersen believes are sociopaths, including her ex-husband.
